At what position was the “Circle VP” for “Seen Proved” stamp applied to the underside of the barrel–subsequent the hefty load tests, the “VP” becoming used after the Visible inspection with the barrel? The “VP” is uncovered on every 1892 and 1894 barrel I've seen from the start to the top of production, bridging the day for the looks of your “WP”. Then why the addition of your “WP”—I admit I'm no history buff, just curious regarding the reasoning for that “WP”.
